I was adopted by a chocolate queen

Didn’t know what was inside of me

Until God spoke to me to open up

Didn’t know what was inside of me

Until God spoke to me to open up

Didn’t know what was inside of me

Until God spoke to me to open up

So I came to a place

Came to a place

So I came to a place

Came to a place

So I came to a place

Came to a place

To stop da bleedin, to stop da bleedin

To stop da bleedin, to stop da bleedin

I was a broken glass

Who changed from a lost boy

To a man of redemption

Then da persecution of exile began

91st and Western

Was Nicety’s Poetry N Motion Lounge

Dat delivered me from all

Demons trying to kill me

I was adopted by a chocolate queen

Who gave me my soul love, dat I never felt

U see I didn’t

See her as a woman,

That I would sleep with

I was searching for dat family love

Cause I kept getting stabbed

And it wouldn’t stop

If I didn’t stick to da rules

Of what they were taught

She has inspired me

To rise up and be dat man who forgives

And to show my broken family

What I am worth

Her power to restore

Has released my heart

To go find Black love as fine as her

Da smile she has will tell u

Dat she’s not da one u recycle for one night stands

I remain loyal cause she has saved me

From infections of brokenness

To da woman who works hard

To da woman who is a survivor

And warrior of no pain

Romain Nicety I love u

And thank u for everything

U have done

U are dat chocolate queen

Who stands for all
